​After the success of the renovation of original StarTac in 2004, Motorola requested a new, third-generation StarTac with an evolved story. The StarTac III was designed for high-volume users, so every detail was focused on reliability, durability, and fluid operation. The complex 3D shape of the hinge part involved a lot of prototyping.
